Köln 75 effortlessly embodies the drive that must have motivated the rebellious eighteen-year-old Vera Brandes (Mala Emde) when she brazenly and with great passion risked everything to realize her dream. Against the will of her conservative parents she books the Cologne Opera House at her own expense and invites Keith Jarrett (John Magaro) to play there in January 1975. This is not a jazz film by the way, but a joyous celebration of the energetic determination involved in really going after a goal.
